His grandfather was looking after him, and from time to time tried to warn the child to put his sandals on, because there could have been broken glass in the field. The child was ignoring his grandfather’s warnings, and continued running barefoot. A conflict between the two generations was clearly seen. During his life, the grandfather had probably faced broken glass more than one time and come to appropriate conclusions, whereas the child hadn’t experienced it yet, and couldn’t understand what all the talk was about.
